Some kindergarten pro tips:
Talk it up! When you communicate excitement to your child about this big step, that positive feeling will help with the transition and separation. Emphasize how ready he/she is for school, and how fun it will be to share stories after school each day.
All belongings, especially the backpack and lunch box. should be easy for your child to manage. It might be helpful to practice with these things, and practice opening lunch and snack type packages. pack snack in backpack, not lunchbox.
Label everything with your child's name.
A good rest and a good breakfast helps create success each day. Morning snacks should be nutritious rather than sugary. Lunches should make sense for your child, and be appealing and accessible.
You will need to supply the following to start us off:
headphones that your child is familiar with handling
2 highlighters
a box of colorful dry erase markers
a few plastic folders
at least two tubs of Clorox Wipes
two boxes of tissues
