My name is Kate Chapple. I am excited to begin my 5th year at SMM and 26th in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia! I graduated from Boston University with my degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English. Before joining the staff at SMM, I taught at Holy Cross School in Springfield for over 20 years. During my time there, I taught many subjects in grades 5-8, but most of my time was spent teaching ELA (my favorite). 6th grade is such an important time in a child's life as they make the transition from elementary to middle school. The foundations laid now can significantly influence students’ attitudes toward learning in the years to come. I consider it a privilege to work with this age group and strive to create a environment in which they feel truly valued and encouraged.
I live in Springfield with my husband, two sons (ages 17 & 12) and two cats. I enjoy reading, outdoor activities, and cheering on the Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers. I love spending time in the mountains of PA as well as the beaches of Brigantine, NJ.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions/concerns. I look forward to a rewarding year!
