Study Materials

Here you will find lyrics for the Christmas Pageant songs by grade level

Grade 1

Hello Mr. Santa Claus

Hello Mr. Santa Claus

Will I get my hobby horse?

Will your reindeer come my way?

Will I get my doll and sleigh?

If I do, I'll be so good--

the best child in the neighborhood

Santa, Santa, dressed in red

Don't be late so I can go to bed!

Grade 2

Do you hear what I hear?

Said the night wind to the little lamb

Do you see what I see?

Way up in the sky, little lamb

Do you see what I see?

A star, a star, dancing in the night

With a tail as big as a kite

With a tail as big as a kite

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy

Do you hear what I hear?

Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy

Do you hear what I hear?

A song, a song high above the trees

With a voice as big as the sea

With a voice as big as the sea

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king

Do you know what I know?

In your palace warm, mighty king

Do you know what I know?

A Child, a Child shivers in the cold

Let us bring him silver and gold

Let us bring him silver and gold

Said the king to the people everywhere

Listen to what I say!

Pray for peace, people, everywhere

Listen to what I say!

The Child, the Child sleeping in the night

He will bring us goodness and light

He will bring us goodness and light

Grade 3 (and Choir)

Winter Fantasy

Choir:

Snowflakes falling all over town, slipping, sliding everybody rushin' 'round

There's an icy chill in the air, telling us that winter's really here

Oh, I'm so glad that winter is here; grab your sled and let out a happy cheer

Because it's snowing, blowing all through the day

Winter winds will surely blow all your cares away!

Third grade:

Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh

O'er the fields we go, laughing all the way

Bells on bobtails ring, making spirits bright

What fun it is to laugh and sing a sleighing song tonight

Oh, Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Oh what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh!

Grade 4

Shepherds Play Your Melody

Shepherds play your melody and raise your voices, shout with glee

Lift them freely, lift them high, and sing with the angels in the sky

Sing your joyful praise, Christ the Lord is born today

Shout the glad news o'er all the world from door to door

Join with us and praise Him; greet the new born king today

God has sent His Son to guide us, love us, lead us on our way

Shepherds play your melody and raise your voices, shout with glee

Lift them freely, lift them high, and sing with the angels in the sky

So let us our whole selves give to Christ and always through Him live

Dedicate ourselves to do the things that He would have us do.

*Shepherds play your melody and raise your voices, shout with glee

Lift them freely, lift them high, and sing with the angels in the sky.

Grade 5

Vamos Todos a Belen

Vamos todos a Belen con amor y gozo

Adoremus al Senor, Nuestra redentor

Night as bright as morning; hark an angel sings

From the shining heavens, tidings glad he brings

Vamos todos a Belen . . .

Happy be the shepherds, chosen from all earth

God's own Word to witness, at the holy birth

Vamos todos a Belen . . .

Grade 6 Italian Scholars

Tu Scendi Dalle Stella

Grade 7 and some Grade 6

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go

Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again with candy canes and silver lanes a-glow

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, toys in every store

But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be on your own front door

Musical interlude

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go,

There's a tree in the grand hotel, one in the park as well--the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, soon the bells will start

And the the thing that'll make 'em ring is the carol that you sing right within your heart
