About the Teacher

Hi my name is Kate Kelley. This is my second year teaching at SMM, but my twentieth year teaching overall. I received my early childhood and elementary education degree from Neumann College. 

After I graduated from college, I taught 4th grade for seven years and 3rd grade for two years at Our Lady of Fatima, in Secane. I then stayed at home to raise my children for a few years. I later continued teaching at Reformation Nursery School working in preschool, pre-K and kindergarten classrooms. I also worked as the assistant director of Stay and Play, a before and after school program. 

I grew up in Media and still live here with my family. I have been married to my husband, Josh for 20 years and we have 3 children. My son Ryan is 18, my daughter Maura is 15 and my son Brendan is 12.  Ryan graduated this past June from Penncrest High School and will be heading off to the Coast Guard in October.  Maura will be starting her Sophomore year at Penncrest and Brendan will be going into seventh grade at Springton Lake Middle School.  My family and I also adopted a puggle puppy last January from TLC Rescue.  He is about ten months old and full of energy, but also the best snuggle buddy when relaxing on the couch.  His name is Marty and we are so in love with him. 

Some of my favorite things are going to the beach, attending concerts and Philadelphia sporting events. I also, enjoying walking Mr. Marty, baking lots of yummy desserts and spending time with family and friends.
