Typing Assignments
*3rd, 4th and 5th grade 3rd Trimester Typing Test will be given on Wednesday, May 29th.
*3rd, 4th and 5th grade May Typing Logs are due on Wednesday, May 29th.
*Middle School Typing Assignment #3 is due Friday, May 17th.
Please complete the following:
Advances Lessons 1-4 and 6-7
End of the Year Typing Goals:
By the end of 3rd grade, typing goal is 15 wpm.
By the end of 4th grade, typing goal is 20 wpm.
By the end of 5th grade, typing goal is 25 wpm.
By the end of 8th grade, typing goal is 40 wpm.
3rd graders will have a monthly typing log to complete once they learn all of the keys. (Usually not until December or January) They can get their typing minutes by typing lessons at Typing.com.
4th and 5th graders have a monthly typing log. They may use Typing.com, assignments for other subjects, or typing games to get their typing minutes each month, depending on their typing test scores. (See Document Links below)
6th-8th graders will receive an email message notifying them of their typing assignments (one each trimester). Once they demonstrate that they are able to type 40 wpm on a typing test in school, they are exempt for the remainder of the school year. Students who type 50+ wpm on a typing test are exempt permanently. Once middle school students feel they are ready to test out of typing, they should email Mrs. Vanderhoef in order to schedule times to take typing tests during their homeroom or resource times.
