SUMMER RECORDER RESOURCES
SMV 4th and 5th Grade Recorder Karate Packet
Use this link to access a myriad of resources on Bethsnotes.com. They have fingering charts, lots of songs, and printable resources. Any of the links in the red or light blue background should bring you to songs that contain the notes our students learned this year. Happy playing!
In 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade we use Dr. John Feierabend's Conversational Solfege curriculum based on collected folk songs from the Americas and around the world.
Conversational Solfege: It focuses on aural training and musicality prior learning to read music, and students will participate in daily exercises of rhythm patterns and intonation.
Concert: Students in 1st-5th grade will participate in the Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 12th at 1:15PM and 6:30PM.
Instruments: Students will begin to experiment and perform on the barred Orff instruments. We also will take a look at recorders. More information coming soon!
Composer of the Month: Students will learn about the life and music of various composers over the course of Music History. This will paint the picture of how music is interwoven into some key points in history and how we have gotten to the music we have today.
The goal of our music classes is to equip our students to be able to enjoy music for the rest of their lives.
Composers of the Month
September: Ludwig van Beethoven
October: Johann Sebastian Bach
November: Gustav Holst
December: Peter Illyich Tchaikovsky
January: George Gershwin
