An SMS Covid Response Plan was sent home as a paper copy to parents on Thursday 17 Feb 2022. There are four stages to the plan. These are outlined in more detail below. At St Martins School our response will need to be flexible depending on the various scenarios that could happen within our community. The movement between the stages will need to be fluid considering a rapidly changing situation.
STAGE 1
School is open for all students
Threat of Omicron present in the wider community - places of interest, possible contacts of staff/ children/ whānau with C19 cases

School based learning and distance learning
Rising number of cases in the SMS community, staff/ children/ whānau contacts of confirmed cases

Increasing number students are completing at home learning (initially MoE Hard Packs)
All other students are learning on-site
Children may be grouped across the team rather than with home teachers

Students onsite will receive a regular classroom programme
Students who remain at home will be supported by one nominated teacher from their team.

Widespread disruption due to significant outbreak where a high percentage of learners and staff are sick or self isolating

Students requiring supervision can remain onsite - these may include non essential workers
