Ronald Levis

 Ronald Levis, service number: 507139, served in the Royal Air Force and was a Flight Sergeant. He died on January 11th, 1942 when he was 21. He was buried in Caerphilly Penyrheol Cemetery. He died from injuries inflicted from his squadron aircraft after it crashed off Oban, Scotland. On 11th January, 1942, No.210 Sqn Catalina I AH547 departed Oban at 06:30. They were detailed to escort Convoy SC62. The aircraft porpoised on take-off, stalled and crashed. Flight Sergeant Levis was rescued from the craft but died of his injuries. His name was not included on the Senghenydd war memorial until it was added in 2016.
