Albert John Williams

Engine Room Artificer 4th Class Albert John Williams, Service Number: D/MX57887, served in the Royal Navy on the HMS Galatea. He died on 15th December, 1941, aged 22 when the ship sank. His name appears on the Plymouth Naval Memorial. He lived in 17 Railway Terrace, Caerphilly and was the son of Tudor Ephraim Williams and Catherine Williams

He died when HMS Galatea was torpedoed by an enemy submarine, and due to him working in the Engine Room he would have not been able to escape, his body was never recovered.
