Hubert Harris

Sergeant Hubert Harris, Service Number: 566343, served in the Royal Airforce. He was killed 30th January, 1940, aged 24. He was from Lower Machen and is buried in Michaelston-y-fedw Tirzah Baptist Churchyard. He died of Tuberculosis while on active service. 

In this letter, Hubert's father thanks staff and students at St Martin's for their sympathy and states that it brings the family comfort to knowthat Hubert was 'so esteemed by all at his old school.' He also recounts that when Hubert took his admission test at Halton College (Cambridge) he was told that he had bee trained at a 'very good type of school'.
