I grew up in New Braunfels, Texas where I learned to love the outdoors, animals, and all things sports! Throughout middle school and high school I played football and competed in powerlifting and track and field.
I graduated college from Texas State University (Southwest Texas State University when I attended) with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise & Sports Science and a Master's degree in Education. While attending college, I found my passion for rugby and played for almost 20 years.
I am very proud of my Scott-Irish heritage which led me to competing in Scottish Highland Games all throughout the US.
Throughout my educational career, I have taught Texas, US & World History, Economics, and American Government. I have also coached rugby, football, basketball, soccer, track & field, and power lifting.
My wife Bethany and I moved to Kingwood in 2013. We have 2 beautiful children, Deryk and Abigail, and we recently gained a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth. Our daughter is a 5th grader here at St. Martha Catholic School and has been attending since PreK-4.
