In November, 2024, voters in the United States elected an administration that considers climate change a hoax and plans to refocus the Environmental Protection Agency onto economic development. Neither the government nor the majority of the public puts a high priority on environmental quality. Those of us that do are pretty much on our own.
So what can we do, really?
We can't do much in the role the federal government has taken for more than 50 years. We cannot deal directly with interstate pollution nor with global climate change policy.
We can do some things the government would never have done. We can work on our own homes and communities. We can develop a range of resilience strategies. The following sections contain a few, and we will continue to add as we find more.
