I received my Bachelor Degree in Elementary/Special Education from Saint Leo University in Florida. While working full time I attended Adelphi University in N.Y. and earned my Masters Degree in Special Education.
My experience ranges from teaching adults to infants with special needs. I
worked at the United Cerebral Palsy Center of Nassau County for several
years. I worked with multiple handicapped adults and school-age children.
I taught inner-city school-age children with learning and emotional
disabilities in Queens, N.Y. Then I worked for the Catholic Guardian Society in Queens, N.Y. for eleven years as a preschool, infant/toddler Special
Education Teacher and later as the Early Intervention Intake Coordinator.
In North Carolina, I worked in a half-day preschool church program so I could be with two of my younger children and be home for my two school-age children. I worked at the Huntington Learning Center tutoring school-age
children through a remedial program. I also administered tests to identify
students strengths and needs. Later I worked at a HeadStart program teaching preschoolers.
This is my 19th year teaching at St. Mark doing a job I love, as well as,
following God's calling to work with children. What a blessing and a joy!
In my personal life I am the mother of four children and my husband and I are entering a new stage in parenting as our children are grown and becoming independent.
