Sending our two boys to St. Luke's has been one of the best decisions we have made for them. We chose St. Luke's for three important reasons: faith, academics and community.

We are a Catholic family and we wanted our children to learn and live out our faith. It is important to us that they develop their relationship with God and understand how much He loves us. We want our faith to guide the actions they take and decisions they make as children and well past their elementary years. At St. Luke's, our children pray, are taught religion on a daily basis, participate in weekly mass and receive the Sacraments. The Priests are often seen on campus interacting with the children and their families. St. Luke's is the only parish school in our area that has a convent and the Nuns take an active roll in the classroom and in after school activities. We like that our children have easy access to our Priests and Sisters.

Secondly, we value education. We wanted our children to be challenged and well prepared for high school, college and beyond. We want them to realize that they are capable people and there is no substitute for hard work. St. Luke teachers are committed to their students and the curriculum. They encourage our children to be independent thinkers, effective communicators, how to work independently and in a group. Curriculum also includes Computers, Physical Education, Health and Art. Teachers work with parents in the best interest of the child. Teachers are approachable, can be easily contacted, post assignment and grades on-line. There are also after school programs that help shape a students' educational experience. Choir, chess, Bricks-For-Kids, story-time and CYO basketball are some of the activities offered and ones my children have participated in. Our children love to go to school and that gives us much joy!

Finally, we love the diverse and family-oriented St. Luke community. We have met very nice families at the school and in the parish. Our children are developing lifelong bonds with classmates and members of their church community. Our children really like our principal and the school office staff genuinely care for our boys. My children call St. Luke's their "home away from home" for very good reason!

We want our children to be faith-filled citizens and good stewards of the world. The whole person (mind, body and spirit) education they are receiving at St. Luke's is helping them achieve just that and we are truly thankful.

Why we chose St. Luke's for our daughter. The first thing was academics. I felt that other schools didn't ask too much of the students while St. Luke's has always required that the children and family do their best. We also chose St. Luke's for its strong connection to the church and religion in the class. But what really sold us on the school was the feeling of family and community within the school and church. Everyone always says hi, the students are kind to one another and always respectful. I am always proud to say my daughter attends St. Luke's and know that its giving her a head start for her later years in education.

There are so many reasons why we love St. Luke's Elementary School. Prior to having my children attend St. Luke's, we had our oldest child in our neighborhood public elementary school. We felt like something was seriously missing. We felt like he was one of many, and he was not receiving the individual attention he needs to be successful. We were lacking a sense of community. We were a very small part of a very large picture. This is why we decided to make the change to St. Luke's. It has exceeded my every expectation. I work in public education, so I know how challenging distance learning has been for all families. I have been so impressed with the way that St. Luke's has handled distance learning, as well as in person learning. They were able to provide my children a sense of normalcy while prioritizing safety and health. St. Luke's is small enough to give my children individual attention, yet diverse enough to give provide them with a well-rounded education. We have found our sense of community. Since day one, St. Luke's has embraced our family with open arms and made us feel like we are home. I no longer worry about my children being lost in the shuffle. I know that their teachers and staff are just as dedicated to my children's education as I am. We are so very pleased with our choice. This school has been a blessing to our family.

We absolutely love St. Luke's. My wife and I were married at the church, and both of our children were Baptized with Deacon Glenn. It was only fitting that we would enroll our children at the school as well. When our oldest was enrolled in Pre-K, she struggled the first few months. She didn't want to be there, or rather, she didn't want daddy to leave. She would cry and cry and throw tantrums. The staff was so understanding and so reassuring. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable leaving her with them, and soon enough, our daughter got comfortable and began to enjoy coming to school. Fast forward four (4) years and both of our children are progressing very well in our eyes. Our daughter is in 3rd grade and our son in 1st. We absolutely love that our children are learning about God and Jesus, they are learning about faith and the church, how to pray, and what it means to be a Christian. It is also very cool to hear what they are learning with regard to math and science, and to watch them get better and better at reading and writing. In addition, when I speak with each teacher and the principal, we feel like our children really matter and are a priority for the school's faculty members. It just reassures us that we made the right choice for our children and that they are safe. Add to that now the Covid-19 pandemic and all that has come with it. Knowing the school has gone to great lengths to protect the children and to provide the safest possible learning environment for them has really put my family and I at ease. We are confident in the school's ability here, and appreciate the cleaning standards, distancing standards, and the technology investments the school has made to keep all families engaged in our children's learning.

All in all, we are proud parents of our St. Luke's children and very much look forward to their continued growth and maturation in faith and education, and their continued pursuit of academic excellence while being good citizens.

Thanks

My son started attending St. Luke’s at first grade. Upon arrival we were greeted by staff and shown around the school, introduced to the teacher without an appointment. The warmth of the staff, the knowledgeable teachers, the diversity of the students has kept my son at the school for four years. I am so pleased with the school. My First grade daughter has attended since Kindergarten and she is thriving. I am proud to be a St. Luke’s parent.

Attending St. Luke's from K-8 was such an integral part of who I am today. I've spent such a major part of my life there, and even after graduating, it always feels like I'm home whenever I come back to visit. The sense of community that St. Luke's offered was so special to me because I (and many others) were able to cherish life long friends who've turned into family.

Today, I'm currently living in San Jose, CA and I work for a team as a graphic designer and photo editor for Apple in Sunnyvale, CA.
