Weekly Winter Retreat 2021

The staff of Saint Leonard and Saint Frances of Rome are delighted to be able to offer a Weekly Winter Retreat to combat the pandemic blues and help our communities continue to grow in our Catholic faith this winter. This week, SL's Pastoral Associate, Ashley Logsdon, started us off by sharing some reflections in a video entitled "Epiphany & Longing for God" - click below to revisit Monday's retreat on your parish's website! We hope you will join us for the rest of this six-week journey: just check your email and our parish communications each Monday for each installment. We look forward to praying with you!

Virtual Rosary

Monday, January 18 at 7:00 pm on Saint Leonard's Facebook page

The third week of January is always busy, and this year is no exception! Our country will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 18) and inaugurate a new President (January 20). We will also celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (January 18-25) and recommit ourselves to caring for the most vulnerable on the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children (January 22). Let's start off this busy week with prayer! We invite you to join us in praying a live-streamed Rosary at 7:00 pm on Monday, January 18. Just tune in to the Saint Leonard Facebook page at 7:00 pm on the 18th to pray along with your fellow parishioners!

Liturgical Ministry at Saint Leonard

It's that time of year again - liturgical ministry scheduling! We are in the midst of scheduling ministers to assist at Masses at Saint Leonard for February, March, and April 2021. Are you interested in joining our team of Sacristans, Lectors, or Hospitality Ministers this winter?

Have you previously served as a liturgical minister but are now ready to return to Mass? Or maybe you're interested in becoming a Sacristan, Lector, or Hospitality Minister for the first time? We'd love to have you! Please reach out to Ashley Logsdon (alogsdon@stleonardlouisville.org; 502-897-2595) to learn more and get started.

Current Saint Leonard ministers: Check your email this week for an availability survey for February through April. Thanks for all that you do!

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION

“Then Peter proceeded to speak and said, “In truth, I see that God shows no partiality.” Acts 10:34

God, in His infinite love, does not play favorites among His children. Do we follow His example of impartiality, or do we judge how ‘deserving’ others are of our generosity based on the standards we set?

Substitute Teachers Needed for Catholic Schools

Do you like to work with children and youth? Are you seeking a part-time job that will enrich your life? The Archdiocese of Louisville is seeking substitute teachers for its preschool through grade 12 elementary and secondary schools, located in seven counties of the Archdiocese (Hardin, Jefferson, Marion, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, and Washington counties). While it is not necessary for substitute teachers to have a teaching certificate, candidates should have at least 60 hours of college credit and must submit a resume, college transcript, and two letters of reference. Applicants also must submit proof of attendance at an archdiocesan Safe Environment training or attend a training before being hired. Training and ongoing formation will be provided to archdiocesan substitute teachers. To apply, go to www.archlou.org/ocs-employment. For questions about subbing in a Catholic school, please email or call Lori Weiter, lweiter@archlou.org or 502-585-3291.
