Q - Do I need a vet referral?
A -I will always recommend your dog has a thorough physical exam to rule out any clinical issues which could be impacting on their behaviour. Pain/discomfort/ill health can have a considerable effect on how they behave. You can't separate brain from body!
Q - What training methods do you use?
A - I will always use positive and kind methods - I will never suggest using anything that the dog may consider aversive (i.e. uncomfortable/frightening/painful). Your dog's emotional wellbeing is my highest priority. However - I will not judge you if you are using a piece of equipment like a choke chain/rattle bottle/spray collar etc. We will have a discussion about the possible side effects that these items can cause so that you are fully informed.
Q - Are there any breeds/problems you won't work with?
A - Generally not. There are some circumstances under which I may suggest referring you to a colleague who may have specific experience or knowledge if I feel I can't assist you. Ultimately It's about what's a good fit for you and your dog.
