My name is Monika Kmiec and I couldn't be more excited to be working with your children this year!  I have been teaching for 21 years and this is my fourth year at St. Lawrence.  I have previously taught 6th grade English Language Arts as well as 4th, and 3rd grade (all in Oxford Community Schools).  I have always wanted to teach kindergarten and I'm so blessed to be able to do so while working near my children.   I am a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and have a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Wayne State University.  

I have been happily married to my husband Bart for 18 years and we have 4 beautiful children.   Two of them attend St. Lawrence:  Emily (11) is in sixth grade, and Alex (8) is in third grade.  Our older two sons Jacob (16) and Michael (14) attend De La Salle Collegiate.  

When not in school, I enjoy reading,  being outside, and spending time with family and friends.  I love watching my older boys play hockey, cheering my daughter on in volleyball, and watching my third grader develop his skating skills so he can join his big brothers on the ice.
