Senate Elections

Senate elections happen twice a year during the fall and spring semesters. All College for Women students vote via an online ballot sent to their St. Kate's email the morning of election day. Please note that elections are only to appoint/fill the roles of the LEGISLATIVE BOARD and LEADERSHIP TEAM.

Fall 2026 Elections 

Senate Fall Elections will take place Tuesday, September 22nd (8 AM). The ballot will stay posted until Thursday, September 24th (5 PM).

All College for Women students will receive a link through their St. Kate's email. Students may only submit one ballot and can fill out the form at anytime during the time frame. 

Election results will be shared on the Senate Instagram @stkatessenate and on this page once they are finalized.

If you are filing for a legislative board position, watch your email for more information on the campaigning process upon submission of your filing form. 

The Fall filing form DEADLINE is Friday, September 18th.

How Do I Campaign for Legislative Board Positions?

Students who are running for Legislative Board positions will have the opportunity to campaign (the fun and creative part of running for a position!) Read more below on how you can campaign!

Social Media & Electronic Campaigning:

Submit one of your campaign flyers to senate@stkate.edu to have it posted on our Instagram highlight for people to look back and view! This is a great way for people to take a look at your qualities and what you have to bring to the Senate. We acknowledge that not everyone uses social media, so there will be an optional electronic campaign where the Senate will send PDF flyers in a single email to the student body the day before elections. You are not required to send your flier, but it is a great opportunity for students to know who is running and to know why they should vote for you. Flyer PDF needs to be sent in by Friday, September 18th @8 AM.

Flyers should represent you and the Senate appropriately. The PR Committee has the right to reject any campaign flyers that include inappropriate or offensive language.

Tabling 

To allow candidates the opportunity to chat with the student body and explain their purpose for being on Student Senate, we grant candidates the opportunity to table. Tabling is completely optional, but we strongly encourage it. We grant you permission to take creative liberty with your table during your time slot. Set up the table in any way that you need for you to have a successful experience campaigning. In previous years, students put out items for students to take such as flyers, buttons, stickers, treats, etc. 

Dates: September 15th + 16th (TIME TBD)

WE NEED TO KNOW IF YOU PLAN ON TABLING BY SEPTMBER 13th AT 5 PM. If tabling, please only sign up for ONE hour to be fair to other people running for elected positions. Please note there are two tables you are able to choose from. A photo will be attached showing where the table is located. To sign up, please click (link TBD)
