Digital footprints can be very dangerous, you must make sure that what you post is something appropriate and not hurting others. Everything you post everyone can see, even schools can see it. Some high schools won’t accept people with harmful digital footprints. Even if you delete it, someone could take a screen shot of it and they can post it again. 

When having a harmful digital footprint some people can get hurt about what you post and if it’s about them. Most people may find it as a joke, but others not so much. In the unit we learned how a digital footprint can affect job interviews. When applying for jobs the boss can look at your digital footprint and notice how you behave on the internet. You can always get reminded of what you post on the internet. A lot of people can see that post and not many people find that helpful especially when they don’t want to be reminded about it.

 When you are on social media and other platforms you should make sure you know the people that follow you. Having a digital footprint that’s positive can also mean people can steal your posts and call it as their own. That’s why you should always know who your followers are to make sure nobody steals your posts. Being mean on the internet can be very easy, but very harmful to others. It’s way easier to be rude on the internet instead of saying something to someone’s face. Rudeness on the internet is very common, here some examples of people being rude, copying, spreading rumors and  reposting someone else’s post. 

Everything you do on the internet stays there forever. Even if you delete it it’s always there in the cloud. Anyone can see it and it’s not fun to see someone. Being kind on the internet is very important. Being kind can affect your future in many ways. It can get you accepted to schools and jobs. The internet can take over the future one day and that may mean seeing AI way more. AI can take over people's images and can be very harmful to others. 

This is why having a digital footprint can be dangerous and you should be cautious about what you post. It can be very scary sometimes, but just remember to stay positive on the internet and never let it back you down.
