Welcome to Music Class!
I'm happy to have you here!
7th Grade- History of Music in Games Lesson 2 assignment is in Google Classroom. You were given a copy of the worksheet to complete last time I saw you. This worksheet is due Thursday, April 4th, with no exceptions. There is a pdf of the worksheet in the Google Classroom assignment if you need a new copy.
Why is music important?
Children who can keep the beat have improved language fluency
Children learn to discriminate between pitches, types of voices, inflections, and loud/quiet volumes
Decoding symbols, letters, words, sentences, and patterns are a part of music and literacy. Reading music also encourages visual focus and memory.
Fingerplays, action songs, and playing instruments help students develop their fine motor skills.
Songs can be used to teach many concepts, such as the alphabet, counting, cultures, basic skills, and more.
Incorporating music into children's lives creates well rounded thinkers and problem solvers.
