A New Year of Learning and Growth
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a joyful and restful Christmas break. As we begin January, I’m excited for all the learning and growth this new year will bring.
In fifth grade, students will continue building their math skills as we focus on the division of whole numbers and decimals. In science, we will begin our unit on Energy and Matter, exploring how energy is transferred and how matter changes. In social studies, we’ll shift our focus to the explorers of the New World and the establishment of the first colonies.
In sixth grade, students will begin with a review of fraction operations in math to strengthen accuracy and confidence. In social studies, we’ll explore the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia and uncover the important contributions it made to history. In science, students will be finishing up their Natural Disasters projects, applying their research and presentation skills.
At the end of the month, we’ll come together to celebrate Catholic Schools Week—a special time to reflect on the blessings of our faith-based education and strong school community.
Wishing all our families a happy and successful start to 2026!
