Third grade students researched a famous historical person in school, then made a soda bottle statue of that person at home. Other SJR students came to take a look at their hard work.
Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who took time out of their days to come in and share their careers with the SJR students! The third graders were visited by:
Mr. Yogis - Physical Therapist
In the picture to the left, Mr. Outland treated Colin as a stroke patient who was paralyzed on his right side.
Mr. Shimp - Philadelphia Firefighter
Mr. Graham - Videographer and Executive Producer
Mr. Perks - Air Force Reservist and Air Traffic Controller
Mr. Outland - Police Officer
Mrs. Bargerhuff and Mrs. Williamson - Nurses
Future Career Day!
The third graders participated in the Rozzy Kid Career Challenge! For this, each team of students created a theme park ride out of recycled materials. When they finished, each team had to write a brief description of their ride and the materials they used. The Google Slides to the right show the completed projects and their descriptions.
Thank you to Mr. Lou, our seminarian, who made weekly visits to help the third graders prepare for their sacraments and educate them on the importance of vocations.
We met with our seventh grade buddies to play the Religion games they created. The third graders then had a chance to show off their Ozobot expertise.
Ozobots are devices that allow students to code by color. When a line is drawn on paper, the Ozobots will follow the line and "read" the colors to interpret the tricks.
On our trip to the Aquarium, we were able to pet the many varieties of sting rays and appreciate the animals as they swam around. We even got to go "Behind the Tank" and view the animals from above. Thank you to all the parent chaperones who made today great!
Great job to all the third graders who participated in the Saint Parade! A special thank you to the fifth graders for making our costumes!
For the month of October, we met with our seventh grade buddies to make a rosary out of pipe cleaners and beads.
