The mission of the School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program of services that promotes the development of students' academic, personal/social, and career strengths to become lifelong learners, productive workers, and responsible citizens in the school and community.  Through counseling, advocacy, collaboration, leadership, and systemic change, our counselors help students navigate to achieve personal excellence.

Effective school counseling programs are a collaborative effort between the school counselor, parents and other educators to create an environment that promotes student achievement.  The St. Johnsbury School counselors value and respond to the diversity and individual differences of ALL the St. Johnsbury School students.  We believe that our comprehensive school counseling program will ensure equitable access to opportunities and curriculum for ALL students to participate fully in the educational process.
