More on what students can expect
Mornings: Breakfast, literacy and math (led by certified teachers), and recess.
Afternoons: Lunch and a mid-afternoon snack. Team building, activities and field trips, as follows ...
For students currently in K-4, activities and field trips are different every day. For example, one afternoon students might paint and learn magic tricks, while the next afternoon they make music and swim. Many activities are led by community members with special expertise.
For students currently in grades 5-8: When they register, older students will choose afternoon projects and stick with them for about two weeks. A section on projects is below.
All-day field trips for K-4th graders: Once during the first 15 days (July 6-24), and again during the last 10 days (July 27-Aug. 7), CatCH Fire will take two all-day field trips. We're still planning those trips. Past field trips were to Vermont Children's Theater, The Upper Valley Aquatic Center, and the Montshire Museum.
All-day field trips for 5-8th graders: 3 off-campus field trips will be planned for the 3rd week of summer program at places like Willoughby North Beach, Elizabeth's Park, and Harvey's Lake. The other two days of the 3rd week are Field Days. It's a whole week of fun!
Transportation
For students who need it, a bus will be available in the morning (picking up around 8:00 am, arriving at school by 8:30) and in the late afternoon (leaving school at 3:00 pm).
There will not be a bus at mid-day. Therefore, students who attend morning-only will need their own transportation home, and students who attend afternoon-only will need their own transportation to the school.
The Bus routes will be posted here by the end of May.
