With more people online all the time, it has never been more important to ensure that all of your devices are safe and secure from bad actors and software that can be problematic. One of the best ways to do this is to keep your device up to date at all times. Even Chromebooks require regular updates but they tend to do this automatically. Depending on your device they may update themselves.
Windows - Go To Settings > Windows Update and press 'Check for Updates (as shown in the picture) We recommend Windows 10 or 11 where possible as it offers the most up to date Windows experience. It is always worth checking if you can update to the latest versions as they can offer new features and to check out the Microsoft Store and check for updates to preinstalled apps which may provide new features.
It is also important to update your browser regularly as your web browser is one of the main areas where important updates are provided regularly to keep you safe. Both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge offer quick Easy Updates and every update bring security and feature enhancements.
Chrome - Click on the 3 Dots at the top right of the browser and choose
Help > About Google Chrome
Edge (New version) - Click the 3 Dots and then choose
Help > About Microsoft Edge
To Check which iOS version your device is on please go to the Settings App and choose
General > Software Update > Check for Updates
Depending on your device it may not support the latest versions but as long as you keep your device as up to date as possible you will be fine.
Although they update themselves, you can check which version you are on by clicking the Cog Icon and choosing
About Chrome OS > Check for Updates
