The job of the HSCL coordinator is to build links between the school, the home and the community. The HSCL scheme aims to increase the link between home and school by encouraging parents to become more involved in their children’s education. It also aims to encourage self development, literacy skills and activities of parents so that they as the primary educators of their children will be positive role models, encouraging the educational and personal advancement of their children. The HSCL coordinator monitors attendance and visits parents in their own homes to address concerns they may have about their children in school.

Maths for Fun
Maths for Fun
We do fun Maths based activities with our parents. There are two ways of taking part in Maths for Fun. Parents come into our class and help us play Maths games or else we get Maths activities and games to bring home and do with our parents. At the end of Maths for Fun we have a celebration in our class and our parents are invited into our classrooms on this day.
Courses
Courses
Courses for parents are run throughout the year on a range of topics: these include Fitness Classes, English Language Lessons, Art & Crafts, Cookery, Horticulture & Computer & IPad Classes among others. Parents may enrol in these courses by filling out the application forms supplied to their children in school or by calling/texting Mrs. Geraldine Kane on 085 8670194.

Coffee mornings
Monthly Coffee mornings take place where parents are invited to the parents room for a cuppa & a chat.
