Class overview

Throughout the year we will be reading and responding to various novels as well as honing our writing skills throughout the year in personal narratives, informational writing and research writing.

6TH GRADE ELA

We have started our novel, Esperanza Rising, after researching The Dust Bowl. We will continue reading/responding to the book.

7TH GRADE ELA

We have started our novel, The Thief Lord, after doing some research about Venice. We will continue reading/responding this week to the beginning chapters.

8TH GRADE ELA

We have started our novel, Nothing But the Truth, after much discussion about truth and perception. We will continue to read/respond to chapters this week.

7TH GRADE SCIENCE

We have finished Plate Tectonics and will continue with the distribution of Natural Resources.

BOOK REVIEW

ALL students will need to read 4 novels of his/her choice and complete a 3-4 paragraph review of the book. Each book must be 150+ pages and CANNOT be a graphic novel. The template for the review will be given to the students the first week of school.

ALL book reviews are due by MAY 1, 2026.
