Class overview
Throughout the year we will be reading and responding to various novels as well as honing our writing skills throughout the year in personal narratives, informational writing and research writing.
6TH GRADE ELA
We are continuing our novel, "Al Capone Does My Shirts".
We are continuing with our Morphology notebooks learning root words and their meanings. We are doing a Poetry unit for December.
7TH GRADE ELA
We are continuing our novel, "The Westing Game", a mystery based in Milwaukee!
We are continuing with our Morphology notebooks learning root words and their meanings. We are doing a Poetry unit for December.
8TH GRADE ELA
We are continuing reading "Touching Spirit Bear". Great discussions so far!
We are continuing with our Morphology notebooks and will start planning the Carnival before Christmas.
7TH GRADE SCIENCE
We are reading Chapter 3-Minerals and Rocks in the Geosphere
RETAKE ON THURSDAY, DEC. 11
BOOK REVIEW
ALL students will need to read 4 novels of his/her choice and complete a 3-4 paragraph review of the book. Each book must be 150+ pages and CANNOT be a graphic novel. The template for the review will be given to the students the first week of school.
ALL book reviews are due by MAY 1, 2026.

Welcome Back! We have just a short time until Christmas and then our Trivia Night will be here soon as well! Start getting your teams together for Trivia on Saturday, Jan. 17! Remember-any tables you "fill" your child will get all the proceeds to go toward your trip fees! Look for more information coming before Christmas!!
We are starting to plan for the Carnival! Use the great Christmas deals to put together a basket for the raffle portion of the Carnival happening Feb. 20. All proceeds go to St. Ben's!
Craft Day is Friday, Dec. 12 and we have a noon release that day!
