Class overview
4-Year Old Kindergarten is a play-based Early Childhood program in which children have the ability to learn through exploration, discovery, and social interaction in a safe and nuturing environment. We use theme based instruction to extend learning by utilizing all of the senses. The students learn letter recognition, phonics, numbers, shapes, counting, and socialization. Our Catholic faith is embedded within all aspects of our day.
About me
Teaching: My name is Keri Kinney and I have been teaching for the last 26 years in both formal and informal educational settings. I have a Biology and Environmental Studies degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I earned my Education Degree from Carroll Univeristy in Waukesha. I am very passionate about Early Childhood Education, as I feel those are some of the most formative years in preparation for a child's development both educationally, emotionally and socially. I am honored to be able to teach young children in a faith based setting.
Family: I am married to my husband Patrick and we have 3 sons, Bennett (age 21), James (18) and Mason (18) , all of whom attend the Univeristy or Wisconsin-Madison.
Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy spending time outdoors in nature, hiking, biking, and walking our dog Tobey. I love playing volleyball, practicing yoga, gardening, baking and reading. I am a sports fan and love to watch my kids' sporting events.
