About me: I was born in San Antonio, Texas and grew up in the Air Force. After many moves and multiple schools, I began attending James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia where I met my husband 43 years ago. We moved from Virginia to Georgia, North Carolina, California, Illinois and finally (happily) landed in Bowling Green, Kentucky 25 years ago. Since we've been here, we've watched our children (Shannon, Emily and John) grow, graduate from St. Joseph, high school and college and marry and have children of their own. We are blessed with eight grandchildren; three of them are now little Saints!

When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy reading, hiking, sewing, hanging out at the lake, visiting my mom in San Antonio, and (most especially) spending time with my three children, their spouses and our grandchildren.

I began teaching at St. Joseph School in 2003. My love of reading books and writing carried me through every new town and school in my life and led me to my degree in English and the Allied Language Arts. I have enjoyed teaching the many awesome students I have had in my classroom for the past 20 years here at St. Joseph. What a privilege it has been to share not only my love of reading and writing, but to also be able to freely make connections to our faith and God.

However, my second love has always been music. In addition to many years of piano lessons and participating in school and church choirs, I have enjoyed being onstage in musicals. I have also helped direct several musicals and dramas here at SJS and look forward to many more!

I am happy for the opportunity to begin teaching music and am looking forward to being able to explore the many facets and concepts of music with all of the students here at St. Joseph. I am planning to provide every student with an environment that encourages learning music genres, types of instruments and tapping into their skills with hands on fun and exploration.
