Newsletter July 2026

It’s hard to believe we have come to the end of another school year! We have had a fantastic end to the school year with a beautiful mass, disco presentations for our Year 6 children moving onto pastures new and a fantastic performance of ‘The X Factory’ that was enjoyed by all. We wish our Year 6 children all the very best for the future - please do come back to see us and let us know how you are getting on. We will really miss you all! I would also like to thank the families who leave us today for all you have done for our school community over the years - again, do come back and see us. You will always be welcome.  

As mentioned last month, today we say goodbye to some members of staff and we are thankful for all they have done for St Joseph's during their time at our school. We wish Mrs Madronero and Mr Craig all the best for the future. I’m sure it's not the last we will see of you!

Thank you to our newly formed PTFA for an enjoyable Summer Fair at the start of this month as well as the Year 6 disco. We look forward to working closely with you next year on some more regular events.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your continued support for the staff and children in school. St Joseph’s is a special place that I feel very privileged to be leading.

Wishing you all a very happy and safe summer break and I look forward to hearing about all your summer adventures when we return to school on Monday 7th September.

Punctuality is essential at St Joseph’s, and we expect all children to arrive on time every day. The school gates open at 8:40am and close promptly at 8:50am. 

Late arrival means children miss important learning, become unsettled, and disrupt the learning of others. Regular lateness is not acceptable and will be monitored closely.

We understand that occasional lateness may occur due to roadworks or unforeseen circumstances. However, this should be rare and not a regular pattern.

From the Autumn term, any child arriving after the gate has closed must be signed in at the main office. Parents will be required to provide the reason for lateness at the time of signing in.

External providers clubs bookings are now open, please find the poster and the booking links . 

Internal clubs, as always, will be announced and open for booking at the start of term on 4th September 2026.

Parenting Support

Achieving for Children in Kingston offers a wide range of courses for parents seeking to learn more about positive parenting skills, learning more about managing different aspects of parenting with other adults and experienced facilitators.  Follow the link below for more information: Courses Link here

Sewing for Wellbeing Club

We have had a lovely term piloting our new sewing club. The children have been creating needle books and pin cushions and practicing their sewing skills in a small group after school. The club will open again in September.

8.30-4.00 Monday-Friday – closed during school holidays.

3.15p.m. (Infants/KS1)
3.20p.m. (Juniors/KS2) 

Nursery Hours
Morning session 8.30-11.30a.m.
Afternoon session 12.20-3.20p.m

Changes to family details
For changes to your address, telephone numbers or email address please let the office know either in person or by e-mail. 

Medication
If your child needs to receive prescription medicine (4 times a day), medicines need to be brought to the office and parents are asked to complete a ‘permission to administer’ form.

Appointments
We ask that where possible any appointments are booked outside of the school day. 

Where this is not possible, or for emergency appointments, please share the appointment confirmation with the school office prior to the appointment in order for the absence to be authorised. 

If you need to collect your child early from school due to an appointment, please inform the office in the morning so this information can be shared with the relevant class teacher.  Many thanks for your cooperation.

• There is a direct link between attendance and attainment. 

• Absence from school interrupts teaching and learning, and affects children's progress and wellbeing.

• New legislation states that head teachers may only grant a leave of absence in ‘exceptional circumstances’.

• Holidays or unauthorised leave in term time will not be granted.
