April 6-10, 2026 Theme- The letter Vv (keyword- van)
Centers- Melissa and Doug Sushi, Pizza, wooden fruit to cut, Mr. Potato Head, BatMan characters and Legos
Discuss- The letter Vv, sound, brainstorm words beginning with the letter V. Discuss volcanoes and look at pictures and active volcanoes on the smartboard
Fine Motor- follow directions to draw and color a volcano
Religion- God Made Trees
Gross Motor- move to “Animal Action”
Science- make a volcano out of sand and place toy dinosaurs along it to observe which dinosaurs become “extinct” from the eruption ( vinegar and baking soda).
Books- Volcanoes, a non-fiction book and The Magic School Bus Blows Its Top
Music Class
Centers- Melissa and Doug Sushi, Pizza, wooden fruit to cut, Mr. Potato Head, BatMan characters and Legos
Discuss the Food Pyramid or Food Plate to classify types of food.
Fine Motor- sponge paint pictures of vegetables
Gross Motor- obstacle course (hopefully outside)
Religion- God Made Trees
Math- Graph “How do we like our carrots?”- after tasting cooked and raw carrots, the children will decide which way (or not at all) they like carrots
Science- classify fruits and vegetables using plastic food; Discuss how fruits are those that have their seeds inside. But as consumers ,we say a tomato is a vegetable, rather than a fruit, because it is used in savory dishes.
Books- Too Many Carrots and Vegetables ( a first discovery book)
