Staged in 2017 & 2019, this musical drama is an original work based on the life of Sir James Brooke, the first White Rajah Of Sarawak. Balancing historical accuracy and artistic creativity, this musical chronicles the life journey of James Anthoni Brooke, an English adventurer who leaves the shores of his native Bath, England for the shores of Sarawak, an outpost of the Sultanate of Brunei. Together with his interpreter, James' many adventures lead him to fall in love with the land and her people, ultimately becoming the first White Rajah Of Sarawak and the start of the hundred-year-old Brooke dynasty that continues to live in the memory of Sarawakians today.
“Us and Them” is a meaningulf play written by David Campton. This one-act drama was enhanced with original content by Fr. Stanley Goh, SJ. The story is about two groups of wanderers looking for a place to settle. They agree to share a space and mark the line between their territories, but as time passes, suspicion grows. The line becomes a fence, the fence then becomes a wall, built higher and higher. Can they live together or will the mistrust grow to the point of conflict? This relevant, contemporary play is an exploration of how history often repeats itself. Based on a reflection of society and how communities are built and destroyed. It's a powerful, thought-provoking play in a refreshing and humourous light.

Extra Curricular Activities are an important part of high school life. High school years are one of the best opportunities for youths to explore new activities, try different things, and see what they are passionate about. SJPS believes in holistic education where we strive to provide opportunities for each student to get a better idea of who they are and what drives them.
Each student MUST BE involved in at least 2 ECAs from 2 different categories.
The ECAS in SJPS are divided into 3 categories:
Learning to choose wisely.
Getting involved in something that you enjoy is a great way to pursue an interest or hobby. If you participate in the same activity for long enough, you’re bound to gain valuable experience and expertise. You might even be able to take on a leadership role.
An activity that I truly enjoy not just on a superficial level.
It’s easy to choose extracurriculars that don’t ask much from you. You can often sneak by with minimal effort, if you want to. But if you don’t choose something that challenges you, you could be missing out. There is definitely something to be said for working hard towards a goal and then ultimately achieving it.
Extracurricular are a great opportunity to learn a new skill and grow as a person.
Consider how your extracurricular activities might be a way to give back to those around you. Even if you are not explicitly participating in a service project, many clubs find ways to incorporate a service element. Extracurriculars are ultimately a privilege.
