Imagine this; you awake to a fresh, light filled morning. Slipping out of your comfy bed you head to your kitchen. The sun greets you through your kitchen windows. Even though you're still half asleep your hands know what to do after thousands of mornings just like this morning; one freshly brewed dark roast coffee with a few packets of artificial sweetener and half a cup of Baileys non-alcoholic creamer. This is what thousands of people across the world do every morning- in fact, because of the varying time zones, some people might be doing their coffee routine this very second! Yet, that natural part of our morning wasn’t always so natural. In fact it wasn’t until the 15th century coffee itself was discovered and milk was introduced to the beverage in the 17th century. Once coffee was discovered in Arabia, it spread all throughout the world- sometimes accepted and sometimes rejected. However, with the passing of time coffee slowly infiltrated people’s everyday life- and its impotence grew. Now, through my research I can appreciate how something as small as a cup of joe has greatly affected the entire world.
