INTRODUCTION

In this project, I will be discussing my research conducted on the life of the American abstract artist, Agnes Martin.

She lived from March 22, 1912 - December 16, 2004.

I believe her life can inspire many other young female artists to pursue a career in the arts.

At one point in her life, Martin made the difficult decision to pursue a career in painting instead of a stable career as a teacher, which drastically changed the way many view modern art today.

I have always admired her and her style of painting, and her unique way of expressing feelings with such a limited amount of color.
