John F. Kennedy was born in Brookline, Massachusetts on May 29, 1917. His parents were members of Irish Catholic political families and he attended many different prestigious private schools and summer camps. He attended Harvard University and traveled with his father to England for his job. He joined the United States Navy and was later awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his bravery and heroism. Due to his father’s wealth and the fact that he was a conservative Democrat, he was elected to the House of Representatives and later the Senate. He gained quite a bit of attention during his terms and decided to run for president, which was actually his deceased older brother’s dream. He was able to win the presidential election over Richard Nixon and became the youngest president to ever be elected, as well as the first Roman Catholic. He was the 35th president of the United States and died on November 22, 1963.
Abraham Lincoln was born in Hardin County, Kentucky on February 12, 1809. His family was poor so he had to work very hard in order to support his family. His early education consisted of only what classes he could manage to attend at local schools because of how much he had to work. He picked up on politics in Illinois and was elected to the state legislature of Illinois. He was able to pass the bar exam in 1836 after teaching himself law and was able to work as a lawyer. Then he was able to get a spot in the United States House of Representatives which many people did not support. He spoke out against extending slavery which caused him to become well-known as a part of the Republican party. He was soon elected as the 16th president of the United States and died on April 14, 1865.
There were multiple coincidences and similarities between the former presidents alone, regardless of their assassinations. For example, both men ran and were elected into Congress in years ending in ‘46. Abraham Lincoln was elected into Congress in 1846, and John F. Kennedy was elected in 1946. They were also elected as president in years ending in ‘60. Lincoln had a secretary named John, and John F. Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln. Another coincidence was that they both had four children with their wives that they married when they were in their 30s. They also both lost two children that never made it to their teenage years. They also had doctors that had the same name, and their successors had the same last name.
Both of the assassinations happened to occur on Fridays, and both of the former presidents were with their wives when they were killed. They were both killed by being shot in the head by men. The number “7” and the word “Ford” has relevance because Lincoln was seated in box number 7 of the Ford’s Theatre when he was shot, and Kennedy was seated in car number 7 which was made by the Ford Motor Company.
Both of the assassins were Southerners that went by three different names. Abraham Lincoln was killed by John Wilkes Booth and John F. Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald. They also both have 15 total letters in their full names. Before either of them could attend their trials, they were both assassinated after they assassinated the former presidents. After John Wilkes Booth assassinated Lincoln in the theatre, he ran to hide in a warehouse. On the other hand, Lee Harvey Oswald did the complete opposite. After Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated Kennedy in his car from a warehouse, he ran to hide in a theatre.
