https://www.britannica.com/technology/Concorde - This article talks about the Concord, the Concord was the first and only supersonic airliner. The aircraft was manufactured by England and France and mainly saw usage between New York and Europe.

The allies also built a jet engine on their own but it was not as effective.

However the comet was flawed in many ways, one being the window design. Too much stress was put on the primitive windows and caused massive failure.
