The Cultural and Political Effects of Capitalism as a Form of Patriotism

My topic is the political and cultural effects of Capitalism being seen as a form of patriotism in our Society.

My topic focuses on the entire history of the United States, with the most focus being placed on the Post-Industrial Era.

Historical events related to this topic help us understand how people vote and how people use Capitalism-based morality to make policy decisions.

The biggest historical themes that I will explore are themes of capitalism and morality.

My purpose for researching this topic is to develop my understanding of how people view socialist programs in America and how they make their voting decisions. For example, why so many people oppose food stamps or more centralized healthcare and why our representatives are disproportionately business owners.
