About Ms. Venner

Hello, 5th Grade students and family members! I am very excited to be your teacher this year and cannot wait to begin this journey together. Here is a little information about me: I am originally from the UK but have lived Stateside now for 9 years. I grew up singing in a large Anglican parish church just outside of London, where my father was organist and choir master. I received my teaching degree at Oxford Brookes University and taught for five years in England before moving to South Bend. I enjoy singing and listening to a variety of music genres, reading and listening to audio books, running and hiking, and cooking and eating delicious healthy foods. I have two boys (Elliot and Oliver), two dogs (Hazel and Izzy), two fish (Tom and Jerry) and a bearded dragon (named Worm). In my free time, you might find me relaxing with a good book in my hammock, watching the sunset at the beach or going for a long hike in the woods. My guilty pleasures are watching music competition shows (American Idol, AGT, The Voice etc.), and eating European chocolate and Chinese take-out!
