IB does not require a specific style of citation, however we will use "footnote in Chicago style" citation. It is one of the most commonly used citation style for scientific or mathematical papers because it does not interrupt the reading of sentences involving technical terms, mathematical expressions or symbols.
Chicago style citation can be generated with the following site:

Full notes contain the full publication details of the source. The first citation of each source should be a full note.
1 Michael Hease et al., Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL., 2019.
Short notes contain only the author's last name, the title (may be appropriately shortened if longer than four words), and the page number (if relevant). They are used for all subsequent citations of the same source.
1 Hease et al., Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches HL.
Footnotes must be used whenever a source is quoted or paraphrased in the text. The reference number appears in superscripts at the end of the clause or sentence it refers to. It is placed after any punctuation except a dash. The full/short notes appear at the bottom of the relevant page, corresponding to reference numbers in the text.
Implicit differentiation is a method of differentiating implicit relations involving multiple variables, for example x and y, where "we differentiate both sides of the equation with respect to x."1 (superscripted)
Google Doc instruction : after each clause or sentence that you want to add a footnote to, click "Insert" then "Footnote", or use a shortcut "Ctrl+Alt+F". A superscripted footnote number will be automatically added. As you add more footnotes, the number will automatically change as well. Refer to the image below.
