Welcome! My name is Ms. Elaine Nuwer. I am a graduate of St. John's, Alden, and have been the Third Grade teacher here for many years.
Your Third Grader is transitioning from concrete to abstract thinking, focusing on developing independence and critical thinking skills. He/She will engage with more complex texts, learn to organize information in writing, and explore mathematical concepts like multiplication and division with fact fluency. Religion classes will introduce the concept of the Church as a community and explore Catholic teachings through scripture and the liturgical calendar.
