The Saqqara Bird is a small bird shaped artifact found in the tomb in Saqqara, Egypt. It is 14 cm in length and 7.1 inches in wingspan.
The bird was meant to be a scaled down model of some sort of aeroplane or some glider. Scientists thought that the ancient Egyptians knew aerodynamics in some sort of way. It was also used as a child's toy as children did not have much to do
The Saqqara bird was said to be a ceremonial object because it was created based off the falcon, which represents several of the gods in Egyptian Mythology, most commonly the falcon deity Horus or the sun deity, Ra Horakhty
