Dear Parents,

I am delighted that your child is in one of my classes this year. I look forward to many exciting and rewarding experiences as the year progresses. My goal is to provide a productive, challenging and rewarding year for your child. To insure the best possible climate for learning, I need your cooperation and full support.

In 3^rd through 5^th and 8^th grade Math, as well as, in my 5B Social Studies, I concentrate not only on academics, but also personal development. I am interested in developing responsibility, time management, self-discipline, and appropriate social skills. Organizational skills are essential, and need to be reinforced at home. I trust that you will continue to find the Parent Access capability of our PowerSchool Information System as an essential tool for keeping abreast of your child’s progress, successes, and challenges.

While I will be updating my pages weekly (most often on Fridays), there are in school schedule changes that may require unexpected shifts in dates for upcoming assignments/quizzes. I will be sure the students are made aware of the latest dates verbally and via the homework board.

I anticipate a successful year, and if we are all involved – parent, teacher, student – we will accomplish this.
