This year's theme is "Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free". Join us as we commit to making healthy choices and learning about the importance of living drug-free with a fun, daily theme. Thursday, 10/23 "Life is a Puzzle- Solve it Drug Free"
Students will decorate an individual puzzle piece to represent their commitment to making healthy choices. These will be on display to symbolize how individual choices contribute to a stronger, healthier school.
Friday, 10/24 "Use Your Thinking Cap, Don't Do Drugs"
Students in Pre-K through 5th Grade can make drug-free themed hats at home. Completed hats should be worn into school and will be left at school for judging. Winners will be picked at each grade level and in special categories. Winners will be able to wear their hats in the Red Ribbon Parade on 10/29. View more details here.
Monday, 10/27 "Team Up Against Drugs" Jersey and Jeans Day
Students may wear their favorite sports jersey or shirt with jeans (no rips or holes) and sneakers.
Tuesday, 10/28 "Believe in Magic, Not Drugs" Disney Day
Students may wear Disney shirts and accessories with PE sweatpants and sneakers. No costumes, wands or wigs are allowed.
Wednesday, 10/29 "Head to Toe Red Day"
All students may dress in red from head to toe along with sneakers. PE sweatpants may be worn in lieu of red pants.
Calendar Updates:
~10/21-PINK OUT DAY-Students can donate $1 (or more) to wear pink. All funds raised will go towards Breast Cancer Research. All students should wear sneakers. No nail polish, makeup, colored hair or wigs are allowed. Cash donations will be brought into school the day of.
~11/11-Veterans Day-Wear Red, White and Blue-Students can donate $1 or more to wear Red, White and Blue and all proceeds will go to the Honor Flight Fund.

STEAM/Robotics
Get ready for STEAM/Robotics Club! Explore, create, collaborate, and problem-solve through fun, engaging projects in science, technology, engineering, art, math, and robotics with Mr. Llufrio and Mrs. Donnelly.
Grades 3–5: Keep an eye out for the registration link in the Wolfpack Weekly next week on October 15th for this exciting afterschool club. Open to Grades 3–5, this hands-on club will meet every other Wednesday from 3-4pm in the Multimedia Center. This club is limited to just 25 students.
Second Sunday School Mass
Each month this year on the Second Sunday we will celebrate a Second Sunday School Mass where we will recognize and celebrate our students. Each month is dedicated to two grade levels. This is a wonderful time to attend Mass as a family and to connect with other school families as well.
November 9th - Kindergarten and Grade 7
December 14th - All grades are encouraged to attend

February 8th - PreK and Grade 8

Grading Policy and PowerSchool:
Our new grading policy, as mandated by the AOB, is included in our Student & Parent Handbook beginning on page 9. All major content areas will now be graded using 4 weighted categories. The categories are weighted as follows:
Content Knowledge 60%
Assessment of Learning 20%
Skill Application & Critical Thinking 15%
HW and Practice 5%
Access to PowerSchool, which provides parents with online access for grades for their children in Grades 3-8, is now OPEN. For new students to SJS, as well as all 3rd graders, information regarding access has been sent home. Please allow time for grades to be entered and for you to get used to the new weighting system. Directions and an online training module can be found HERE. Parents can download the PowerSchool Mobile app. If requested, our District Code is PJQM (all caps).

All parents must complete Virtus Training in order to volunteer at our school for class parties, field trips, and other activities. Your certification will need to be updated periodically, as well. More information about this training can be found at the following website:
