Week of October 26th

Lessons:  This week students will begin Module 4, Fluency with Multi-Digit Decimal Operations. Lessons include;
4.1 - Add and Subtract Decimals
4.2 - Multiply Decimals

Google Classroom - Please have your child check Google Classroom for homework and assignment postings.

Important Announcements:

Lesson Checks:  Students should expect to have a Lesson Checks (quiz) or graded classwork as we complete each lesson. A graded assignment is planned for Lesson 4.1 on Wednesday.

Multiplication Quiz: A timed multiplication quiz on 10 and 11 facts is scheduled for Thursday, October 29th.

iXL Skills:  iXL is a great resource that we use in the classroom, and it can be used at home as well.  I will star the skills that we learn in class.  In addition, each student has a personalized MAP Growth Plan on iXL.  This plan is tailored with specific skills for each student's learning needs. 

Week of October 19th

Lessons:  This week students will finish Module 3, complete Module 3 Review, and a test is planned for Tuesday, October 20th. Later in the week they will begin Module 4.  Lessons include;
3.5 - Practice Fraction Operations
4.1 - Add and Subtract Decimals

Module 3 Test Update:  Module 3 test is Wednesday, October 21st.

Lessons:  This week students will continue to work in Module 3, Fraction Division.  Lessons in Module 3 this week include;
3.2 - Explore Division of Fractions with Unlike Denominator
3.3 -  Explore Division of Mixed Numbers
3.4 - Practice and Apply Division of Fractions and Mixed Numbers
3.5 - Practice Fraction Operations

Week of September 28th

Lessons:  This week students will continue in unit 2 on rational numbers. The focus will be on lesson 2.3, Find and Apply LCM and GCF and lesson 2.4, order rational numbers. This is the last lesson of module 2.  We will review and a test is planned for Monday, October 5th.

Week of September 21st

Lessons:  Unit 1 Test is on Monday, September 21st. This week we will also begin unit 2 on rational numbers. This week's lesson will be on lesson 2.1 interpret rational numbers and lesson 2.2 compare rational numbers.

Multiplication Facts:  Students will complete a timed quiz focusing on facts of 4s on Friday, September 25th.

MAP Testing: Students will have MAP testing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. Math Map Testing is on Tuesday. Please be sure that your child has a good night's sleep and nutritious breakfast prior to testing.

Week of September 14th

Lesson:  Students will continue to work with integers.  This week they will continue identifying integers and their opposites on number lines. They will also compare integers and learn about absolute value. 

Important Announcement:

Lesson Checks:   Students should expect to have Lesson Checks (quizzes) as we complete each lesson. Lesson Checks on Lesson 1.1 is scheduled for Monday, September 14th, Lesson 1.2 is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16th, and Lesson 1.3 is scheduled for Friday, September 18th.

Multiplication Quiz: A timed multiplication quiz is scheduled for Friday, September 18th.

Unit Test Update:  Unit 1 test is now scheduled for Monday, September 21st. 

Textbooks:   Please cover your child's math textbook, as this is a consumable book and may tear easily if left uncovered.

Week of September 8th

Lesson:  Students will focus on strategies to understand and identify integers.

Important Announcement:

Textbooks:   Please cover your child's math textbook. This is a consumable book, and it may easily tear if left uncovered.
