It’s a Jungle out There!
1 Giraffe 1: Welcome to our 2nd-grade Program it’s a Jungle out There
2 Giraffe 2: Come with us as we journey through the jungle in search of true happiness
3 Giraffe 3: We will meet many different jungle animals along the way!
4 Giraffe 4: Every one of them thinks they are happy but only one group can really help our King Leo the Lion
IT’S A JUNGLE OUT THERE!
(As the song ends, the animals freeze. King Leo, Stripes and Spots enter. Stripes is carrying a huge pile of papers all taped together as in one long sheet.)
5 Leo(1): Roar, roar, rooooaaarrr!
6 Giraffe 5: Calm yourself, Your Majesty. Yes, please, Sire!
Leo (1): How can I calm down when there is so much work to do? (Very upset) Have you seen the list of appointments for today? (He takes the papers from Stripes and unfolds it into a long list.)
7 Giraffe 6 Wow! That sure is a lot of appointments!
Leo: And that’s just for this morning!
8 Giraffe 7: Why don’t you cancel some of them, Sire?
Leo (1) : (Already busy signing papers, etc.) If I do that, I’ll lose business and then I won’t be the most powerful animal of all. After all, it takes a lot of work to be the King of the Jungle!
KING OF THE JUNGLE
9 Leo(2): I just don’t get it. Here I am, the King of the Jungle. I have more riches and more power than any other animal, and still, I don’t feel happy.
10 Giraffe 8: Perhaps the Tigers and Zebras could help you, Your Majesty. They are always looking to help and up for an adventure
Leo(2) : (Thinking) Well . . . (Getting an idea) they could go on a quest. (Getting enthusiastic) they could ask all the animals for the Key to Happiness. And when you find it, bring it back to me.
Everyone: Yes, Your Majesty.
Leo(2) : (Picking up his papers and getting back to work) And hurry!! Time is money, you know.

Max 1 Zebra 8 All they can say is, “party, party, party,” or “Play, play, play,” We can’t go back to the King with a silly answer like that.

Asher 7 Tiger 10 And you’re so happy! You must have the Key to Happiness.
Ethan 8 Elephant 6:Why we certainly do. Here it is. (He hands Stripes a rose.)
Mohamad 9 Zebra 10 That’s not a key; it’s just a flower!
Evan 16 Elephant 7: But you see—It represents something.
Victoria 11 Elephant 8: It stands for stopping to smell the roses. He means you have to learn to appreciate the things around you.

Josie 19 Tiger:12 But why, Sire? Didn’t you trust us to find the key and bring it back to you?
Leo (3): Certainly, but after you left, I started thinking how nice it would be to go on a little adventure and . . . well . . . (slightly embarrassed) I guess I missed you, too. (Holds up rose)
Everyone: Congratulations, Sire.
