CHECKOUT PRIVILEGES:

KINDERGARTEN AND 1ST GRADERS:

· May borrow one book at a time to take home.

· An index card with their name/class will be placed in the book pocket.

· Student returns the book to class with the name card.

· Each class visits the library at least once every week.

· Students may come at other times agreeable with the teacher.

· Students in Accelerated Reader may borrow a second book.

2ND THROUGH 4TH GRADERS:

· May borrow two books for 2nd grade, 3 for 3rd and 4 for 4th.

· May borrow more for a school project as needed.

CHECK-OUT TIMES:

· Books are checked out for a 2-week time period - though most students return them and get more in a matter of days, or even hours.

· Overdue notices are distributed to students at school when the item is one week late.

· A series of notices are generated until a final billing notice comes after the item is overdue by one month.

· After the billing notice, students are asked to pay the cost of the book. Money is gladly refunded if the book is later found.
