Artist Statement

 My art is about how I can create fantasies using different groups of animals that are not normally together like frogs, bugs, newts, and rats. I explore animal connections in abstract settings to depict human-like relationships between animals. My art continues to develop through materials like cardboard, newspaper, and tape to construct elaborate scenes in the natural, yet fantastical, world in my art. In addition my art has developed from 2D to 3D. After practicing these techniques, I learned that revising my art to 3D allows me to fully encompass observers in the worlds that I create. I continue to experiment by showcasing normally disliked creatures in a new light. These animals are often misunderstood, but I hope people find a new appreciation for them through my art.
