Hi! I'm Lauren Durling, the Co-Owner & Creative Director for St. James Salon. We're a family-owned salon, three generations in the making! My Dad, Wade, runs the salon while I own and run our bridal & special events side of the business.
Our humble beginnings have transformed into award-winning services, and we are now a highly sought-after mobile hair and makeup solution for large bridal groups! For more details about us, check out our website here.
We're a fun group, and are absolutely obsessed with serving our clients at the highest levels. We've developed a unique client onboarding and fulfillment system that provides an unparalleled experience for our clients. You’ll be joining our team of fellow stylists and artists, as well as working alongside me, my Chief Operations Officer, and our Client Concierge!
Our Mission:
We are on a mission to help women feel their best, inside and out, so they can live their very best lives. Through our intentional interactions and unparalleled service, we help our clients see what we see when we look at her, so she can ignite her inner goddess and feel like the most elegant, beautiful, empowered and confident version of herself, everywhere she goes.
With us, every woman feels completely seen and understood, as part of our family, and she carries this experience with her for the rest of her life.
Family Comes First
Every client, every team member, every lead - everyone is family. And we put these humans, and living our lives, ahead of stone-cold business. Because relationships are what business is built on!
Communication, Communication, Communication
Over-communication is what we eat for breakfast. No detail is too small. Context should always be provided. Be open, direct, clear and compassionate. And remember - communication is THE biggest tool and asset we have to creating the results, experiences and environment we desire most.
Intentional Experiences
We create experiences for our our potential clients, and clients, with every interaction. At every touchpoint, whether it’s an automated email workflow or a custom response, we are crafting our communication and delivery in a way that has them feeling like the most special and supported person in the world. Like they are the ONLY person we are talking to in the world. It’s through these experiences that we create raving fans, and raving fans are what drive our business growth!
Level 10 Excellence
We can never create perfection, but we can create excellence! We do this by showing up as our very best and playing full out - aiming to meet and exceed expectations. This automatically voids any potential for mediocrity and instead ensures we execute our tasks and responsibilities with total excellence!
Solutions, Period
We turn problems directly into solutions, always. This means that before we bring a question to someone, we’ve gone one extra step to see if we can figure it out first. We know when to do a little extra digging to save others time, and when to draw the line for our own time and leverage the knowledge of others. Even when we ask for support - we do so while also sharing context of what you’ve tried and ideas you have.
Fail Forward
We take extreme ownership of our mistakes. We acknowledge them first, then we reflect back and look at how we can prevent those mistakes from happening again. We embody the Fail Forward mindset and realize that with every mistake comes even better solutions. So leverage every lesson!
Ever Aware, Ever Wise
We work on ourselves - every day. Personal development isn’t new to us, it’s a way of life. Whether it’s through self-reflection, meditation, transformational therapy, training programs or paradigm-shifting books and the like, we are consistently becoming more self-aware, more emotionally mature, and decades wiser than our age would ever tell.
