About Me

Hello! My name is Melissa Kerchief. I am so excited to be one of your child's teachers this year! This will be my 10th year teaching and my 7th year at St. James. I help sponsor the Student Council and Teen Power at St. James. I also help coach the academic teams. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th math and social studies. I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics. I also am licensed in middle school Social Studies. I hope to get my master's degree soon!

I have a amazing family that I enjoy spending all of my free time with. My husband, Sean, and I have a wonderful son, Lincoln, that will attend St. James next year for preschool. My husband and I also have a beautiful daughter, Lyla, who joined God in Heaven earlier this year. We attend St. Benedict Cathedral in Evansville. A few of my favorite things include God, my family, cats, crime TV shows, and Christmas.

I am beyond blessed to teach at Saint James and promise to love your child as if they are my own. It is going to be an awesome year!
