The Department of Education's new policy, "No Read, No Move", has been implemented to assess the reading comprehension of every student.

If one is not able to pass, a reading intervention is pre-stated as a solution. 

With the main cause of this intervention being that in accordance with the PISA evaluation in 2020, the Philippines ranked last with the 79 country participants of reading comprehension evaluation.

Earvin Sakilayan, a professor, stated that with this implementation of policy, improvement will be seen and that there should be no favoritism in learning, public and private schools alike are required to be able to read in English and Filipino.
